You… before selling your gold, silver or coins made of other materials, would you like to know the real value of these coins at the current moment? Of course, you always have the opportunity to come to our office in Riga during working hours and evaluate your coins or the entire collection of coins by our local certified experts. However, its not always convenient for everyone to make an appointment with a specialist in advance, especially if you do not live in Riga and doubt the great value of your coin collection.
For convenience, and additional security, and the possible anonymity of our potential customers, we offer online coin valuation by photo.
To do this, you just need to go to the web page "How to determine the value of ancient coins?", and fill out the form at the end of the page.
In addition, by studying the web page "How to determine the value of ancient coins?", you can make a preliminary assessment of your collection on your own, and find out how valuable it is.
However, to get a more accurate estimate, you can use Whatsapp to contact the expert directly and provide a photo or video of the coins. Moreover, during an online consultation, the expert will ask you to show exactly those fragments of coins that seem doubtful to him. And you must admit that it is doubtful to describe and make a photo for a non-specialist.
So feel free to use our "Evaluate Coins Via Whatsapp" service.
How to photograph coins for examination?
Many people believe that a good camera is the most important thing for taking good photos; but this is only partly true. Most modern phones (smartphones) will do a fine job of photographing coins for preliminary examination.
If you pay attention to lighting, your photos can become professional for this kind of examination! Daylight can be used as a light source.
First, pay attention to the following guidelines when photographing coins, i.e. how a photo can better illustrate a coin.
- Side light best emphasizes the structure of the surface.
- Highlighting through a transparent background eliminates the shadow of the coin without affecting the light on the surface.
- Phone camera, preferably mounted on a tripod,
- White plexiglass panel.
These are the most important things you need to take good pictures of coins.
Professional photographers advise to photograph coins for examination at an angle of 30° to the coin, and to position the camera lens quite close (<=2 cm) using the macro function.
Then the results will be pretty accurate. However, then the coins are shown not directly from above, but at an angle, and some flaws may be hidden. But the advantage of shooting at a 30° angle: no unwanted reflections!
Therefore, for the examination of coins, it is desirable to provide both options.
For examination, photos of both sides of the coins are required.
If there are some flaws on the coin that distinguish the coin from the ideal condition, then these fragments should be photographed additionally so that the expert can evaluate your coin more accurately.
Everything written here is advisory (but not mandatory) so that you can get a more accurate estimate of the value of an old coin.
So feel free to take pictures of how it turns out, and we can tell how valuable your coin is.
Coin evaluation via Whatsapp for clients from Riga, the Baltic states, and any other country.
If it is inconvenient or impossible for you to get to our office in Riga, and you would like to know the approximate value of your collection before selling your coins, you can make an online preliminary assessment.
We offer you the opportunity to evaluate coins via WhatsApp, get a free consultation, without any obligation on your part, and find out how profitable it is for you to sell your coins right now.
Potential sellers from anywhere in the world can simply send us photos, or better yet, videos of coins and, if possible, provide additional information at +371 29 787 887.
Please do not polish the coins or attempt to improve their condition, as any and all known effects on antique coins are noticeable to the specialist and will drastically reduce the sale value of the coins. For example, a patina-covered coin is worth more than one that has been "cleaned up". Take photos or videos in the original condition of the coins!
Our experts will contact you as soon as possible and make you a profitable offer to buy!
